President and Vice-Presidents

In April 2014 the choir gave the first Suffolk performance of The Peacemakers by Karl Jenkins in The Apex, Bury St Edmunds. Our special guest on that evening was Terry Waite CBE, a long-time friend of the composer and contributor to the work. We are delighted that he is now our President.

Our Vice-Presidents are Dorothy Fisher, a previous choir member and most energetic and long-serving volunteer, and Graham Bishop-Hunt, our Musical Director from 1979 to 2001.

Friends

We invite you to become a Friend of Stowmarket Chorale

Since its foundation in 1901, this choir has endeavoured to provide a great standard of singing for the people of Stowmarket and the surrounding areas. To be able to invite professional soloists and musicians to perform with us we need to raise funds above and beyond the income we receive from members’ annual subscriptions and from the social events that we hold during the year.

By becoming a Friend of Stowmarket Chorale you can help us towards engaging the professional soloists who make all the difference to our performances and are vital to the success of the choir.

Friends play an important part in supporting the activities of the choir for an annual subscription of £25 per person or £40 per couple. The advantages include:

  • Priority booking
  • Friends acknowledgement in programme
  • Newsletters and flyers to enable priority booking and to keep Friends aware of events
  • Reserved seating on request at concerts
  • Invitations to social functions

To become a Friend, all you need to do is to email Ruth Langridge, the Friends Secretary. We look forward to welcoming you!
